HOW TO STUDY (REVIEW)

  • After attending class, review your class notes (or the notes from your reading if not in a live class) within the first 24 hours of taking them. Do this before going on to new material.

  • Find out what you still don’t know by answering all the questions available to you on the particular topic.
  • After attending another class (or reading another chapter if not in a live class) review your notes. Before reviewing your most recent notes, review your previous notes again. Only after reviewing your previous notes should you review your most recent notes.
  • Keep repeating this process – review previous notes, then your most recent notes.
  • Review all your previous notes each time. Not just the notes from the last class (or reading assignment). Each time you review older notes, you will be able to review them quicker, spending most of your reviewing time on recent notes and notes on your troubled areas.
  • Reviewing is extremely important. IF YOU DO NOT REVIEW IN THE FIRST 24 HOURS OF LEARNING – YOU FORGET MOST OF WHAT YOU LEARNED, and you’ll have to relearn the material you once knew.
